LOVE POEM W/ BIBLICALLY ACCURATE ANGEL
Ella Flores |
I am not good to you, but I would like to be
even worse.
Don't be afraid.
In the right mood, I like you
smooth, quiet,
& hooved.
I can tell you're a little rosy-cheeked sans-serif
type who says things like
A family sounds nice.
I call it reverse Jeopardy when you ask me
in the form of a statement.
In the right mind
I'd get myself all winged
eyeliner, bright-lipped, blind-
folded for you. Instead
I spin the armillary sphere on your tidy desk,
let you doze off to Neon
Genesis Evangelion. When you're finally
in bed, I sit crisscrossed under your desk
with my finest crayons
& construction paper.
I know it's not what you meant, but here's a triangle
dress. Here are the wheels for
the tricycle, here's me dotting the eyes with my fear
I am no good for you.
