INTERVENTION Sharon Wegscjeoder=Cruse, Choice-Making: for Codependents, Adult Children, and Spirituality Seekers, Health Communications Inc. 1985 Intervention with the co-dependent is difficult. But it becomes necessary. As difficult as it may be to intervene in the disease process of an alcoholic, it is often much easier than intervening with a co-dependent person. Co-dependents, grown rigid and inflexible, have belief systems that are hard to penetrate. Co-dependents have habitually become controlling in relationships and have a great deal of difficulty in establishing intimacy.
