BASIC ELEMENTS OF A.C. SERVOMECHANISM

Arthur Porter, Cybernetic Simplified, Barnes & Noble Inc, 1969

Servo systems are normally designated as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneutmatic systems. Hower, in practice, servo systems frequently embody mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc. components and can be regarded as hybrid systems. For example, electro-hydraulic servo systems are used widely in the control of aircraft control surfaces, and in machine tool controls. These systems usually incorporate electrical data-transmission systems of the type we discussed in the last chapter.
