A pipe creaks and I think
               this is life

but it's just the water running. Hot water
               doesn't cost anything

close to our pay. So we leave
               the shower running

fifty degrees hotter.

mountains obstruct the view. Good excuse to
               punctuate

our observation. Watch
               the time

pass.
               Anyway.

It all goes into the bin. Paper straws. Broken glass.   
               Everything.

I learned that university students in Germany were leaving their showers on in the summer because the cost of water was included in their rent, but the cost of electricity was not.
