REQUIREMENTS TRACEABILITY

Requirements traceability, for a given requirement of a given system element, is a condition of clear knowledge of the ancestry of that requirement in terms of the parent requirements that make it necessary for the design of the element to respect that requirement. Every requirement for every system element should theoretically be traceable to the customer need as illustrated in Fig. 4.2.
