3 ANTI-POEMS Shriram Sivaramakrishnan |
TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN

__ The three pieces are parts of a collection that I can only call as 'anti-poems'. But truly, they can be anything else. Can they be called asemic writing (I blame Mirtha Dermisache & Renee Gladman for inspiring me)? The only thing I know for certain is that some poems arise out of reasons, while some have excuses for their existence. When faced with the absurdity of reality, meaning-making can warp into an abject negation of itself; a wanton act of trivializing stories, a meme-like. But what is trivializing if not a way to undermine the many truths we are forced to confront and inhabit. Maybe anti-poems are anti-dotes.
