This is a found poem from Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt by Anne Rice. I cut up phrases from several pages of the book and assembled them on the warranty card for my new Sonicare toothbrush. My dentist had given it to me for free the day before after she realized I had been in the waiting room for about 2 hours. I was feeling really enthusiastic about my toothbrush and even tweeted the poem @PhillipsCare but didn't get a response :( I wrote this poem, and 30 others, as part of The Poeming 2: Revenge of Rice, a group poetry challenge in which each participant created 31 found poems from one of Rice's novels during the month of October 2017. This our second year of such shenanigans.
