While the stories in the “rooms” of 45 Larem Lane are fictitious, the floorplan is not. I grew up in that trailer. I am fascinated by how such small spaces can seem to magnify the drama of the occupants’ lives. Some houses (or trailers) are alive, and even though I have a terrible memory, I still remember the floor plans of all the homes I’ve lived in. In some ways, each room in my memory feels like a short story that can be combined to make a story about the house that has significance beyond a single individual. I intend to write more floor plan stories.
