Joseph is a Chihuahua, and the angel
that oversees this miracle
from a crow's nest atop the manger
Is a Chihuahua, haloed and grinning. 
The shepherds are Chihuahuas
that clutch in doggy paws their golden
shepherds' crooks. Mary's good
donkey is a dog. The camel is a dog.
Mary her blue-clad self is an eggshell
dog, and the Bradford Exchange's newly
minted Prince of Peace, a human baby,
doesn't appear concerned at all.
