Maureen Tolman Flannery, having been raised in a Wyoming sheep and cattle ranching family, now lives in Chicago with her actor husband and those of their four children who stop home between studies and travel. Lake Michigan cannot replace the Big Horn Mountains, but provides its own solace. Maureen's books are Secret of the Rising Up: Poems of Mexico and Remembered into Life. She is the editor of the critically acclaimed anthology Knowing Stones: Poems of Exotic Places. Her poems have appeared in forty anthologies and over a hundred literary publications, including The Amherst Review, Meridian, Atlanta Review, and Pinyon Poetry.
