The series of flat chips shown in Fig. 6 were photographed in color with a Munsell gray scale in the frame register, permitting color photographic reproduction. The colors of these chips are more realistic than those in another widely used photograph [3]. The Munsell notations of the chips (Table 3) define their colors in psychophysical terms. Because visual color scores and instrumental color of these chips were so highly correlated, we recommend this photograph in color as a new visual guide for chip color evaluation.
