MAN-MODEL FOR DUTCH AGED WOMEN (B) COMPARED TO THE MODEL FOR DUTCH WOMEN (A)

I. A. Ruiter, "Development of Computer Man-Models for the Dutch Aged," Contemporary Ergonomics 1990, Taylor & Francis

It has been mentioned that the variables measured to get an impression of the changed curvature of the spine of aged persons could not be used in developing the man-model. This is not entirely true. These variables could also be used to develop three models, with a slightly, average, or heavily bended spine. Combining these three models wiht the three weight-based models, however, would lead to nine different models for Dutch aged women. At this point the question could be asked if the use of extra models could provide relevant extra information. It is not only useless to develop more models than necessary but even dangerous.
