K. C. Parsons and D. W. Egerton, "The Effect of Glove Design on Manual Dexterity in Neutral and Cold Conditions," Contemporary Ergonomics 1985, Taylor & Francis

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of nine glove designs on manual performance in both neutral and cold conditions. The first experiment compared the restrictive properties of the nine designs. Part one used surgical tape to restrict the hand in the finger combinations, and part two used gloves. Performance was measured both objectively and subjectively from four manual dexterity tests.
