A few months ago, my dear friend, the brilliant Kelly Luce, posted to Facebook pictures of a handful of beautiful religious tracts she had discovered in a thrift store. I’ve long loved this very strange form of literature, and the tracts she posted were extraordinary. After a brief exchange of messages, I received in the mail, almost miraculously, three of these tracts with a simple imperative: “Make some beautiful poetry out of these.” Over the summer, usually while I was watching baseball or binge-watching reruns of any number of television shows, I started working on the first tract. It took a few weeks, but here it is. I couldn’t be more pleased to share it with you. My love and gratitude to Kelly.
