DEFINITION OF AN OFFICE

Another recommendation is that each organization create a "knowledge czar" responsible not only for technology and information services, but also for managing the data bases. This suggestion goes too far by emasculating the end-user from his data and putting an enormous data base management requirement on the czar.... A new approach is required—an approach that views the "office" as a cluster of processes within organizational information flows as illustrated [at right].
