A FRACTURE AT THE ANKLE HAD FAILED TO HEAL.

A metal wire electrode was placed directly into the fracture and connected to the negative terminal of a DC generator. The positive terminal was connected to a flat electrode on the skin of the leg opposite the fracture, and the current flowed through the fracture site. In eight weeks the fracture had healed.
